I am not an Instagram makeup queen. In my fantasies, I wake up every morning with just enough time and just the right amount of creativity to whip up a fresh, cool makeup look on the daily. Unfortunately, that is not my life. To say that I have an every day makeup routine is a little boring. In fact, it undermines the stellar work I put in every morning with the help of less than 5 brushes and some powders. With my two magical, mystical hands my floral bag full of average and ordinary makeup products turns into a fierce mask ready for taking on a potentially stressful day. I don’t have a makeup routine. I have an everyday slay.
The Face
This is the most important part. I’m kind of an “all in” person when it comes to makeup, so I always set down a solid base. I start with my Elf Poreless Face Primer and then work on my powder sandwich. Powder, NYX Total Control Drops (awesome coverage, but sometimes clings to dry spots), concealer, and then powder again. Top it off with some bronzing action from my Rimmel London Kate Sculpting Kit and we’re ready to rock ‘n roll!
Eyes
I use the Elf Cream Eyeliner in Coffee to whip up some drama filled brows that can effectively convey surprise, exasperation, and thoughtfulness at the drop of the hat. If I have some extra time and I’m feeling fancy, I pop the shade Nuts About You from my Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly palette all over my lid and blend it throughouot my crease. Regardless of if I have time for shadow or not, I always top a look off with my Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara.
Lips
Honestly, I should just drop this part from my makeup routine. I wear the Ulta Matte Lip Cream in the shade Tinder. It gives me that “my lips, but better look” which is great since I don’t reapply it during the day. I can’t tell you where it goes, but I think sometimes my job gets so stressful that it scares my lipstick away!
What’s your every day slay?

I have oily skin so maybe the dry patches won’t cling as much!

I personally go back and forth on whether I actually like the foundation or not, but I think most of the reviews I’ve seen on them (especially from other bloggers with oily skin) have been pretty positive! I think if you’re interested in trying a fun to use and super travel friendly product, then you should go for it!

Hmm, the ultra lip cream looks really nice in the tube 🙂 I haven’t shopped there in a while, might have to go pick up one of these!

I definitely recommend it! It’s kind of a moisturizing formula and while it isn’t the most long lasting, it does a nice fade when it goes away!
